The Giver of Life

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 As we prepare for the big “Easter” Celebration this weekend, it is my prayer that in all the hustle and bustle of buying Easter flocks, making Easter baskets and preparing for our big Easter feasts, we don’t forget to celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so that we could have everlasting life. In today’s society, if someone goes out of their way or put their life in danger or dies trying to help someone he or she is deemed a hero. They are then given a medal of honor and a hero’s celebration. Jesus paid the ultimate price to save us from our sins, yet He continues to offer us: Satisfaction for our spiritual hunger and thirst John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Guidance for direction in life John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Eternal life John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Himself, the only way to the Father John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me. In addition to celebrating the life of Jesus we should honor Him by graciously and thankfully taking advantage of all the ways he offers LIFE to us. Don’t wait until you are in need of something to give Him praise. Make a choice to honor Jesus everyday and celebrate LIFE. Love, Benita
