Does Your Ticket Say Heaven?

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a multicultural revival for women. It was a great event as I also attended with other St. Jude moms. I gleamed a lot from the revival but there was one phrase that the speaker (Pricilla Shirer) used that will stay with me forever and that is “Does your ticket say Heaven?” I woke up the next morning and found myself writing these words: Does Your Ticket Say Heaven? By Benita Dees Lewis Are you rich or poor? Are you black or white? It’s not your status that determines your plight. No, it doesn’t matter when the clock strikes seven. If your ticket is not stamped Heaven! Which sorority is it, pink and green? What society club occupies your dream? It won’t mean a thing, if it’s not God’s team. No, it won’t matter when the clock strikes seven. If your ticket is not stamped Heaven! You walk around with your head in the air. Your nose turned up without a care. You’re busy doing everything and going everywhere. No, it doesn’t matter you will see when the clock strikes seven If your ticket is not stamped Heaven! You ignore your spouse and neglect your house. You care more for this world, yourself and career. Forgetting the end will soon be here. Then you will see when the clock strikes seven. If your ticket is not stamped Heaven! Is your home of brick, wood or stone? What does it matter if you’re without God and alone? No, it doesn’t matter all the hype and chatter when the clock strikes seven. If your ticket is not stamped Heaven! Listen up Ladies, it’s not too late. Forget it all and seek God’s face. He’s the only one who can save your soul. Shake it off and give Him control. Take Him by the hand and let Him lead your stroll. Get in God’s word, study and concentrate. It really does matter! I pray when the clock strikes seven. Your ticket will say HEAVEN!

  1. Benita,

WOW! I LOVE the poem! You are AMAZING! You probably won't recognize my profile picture (I've gained weight and AGED a LOT since it was taken.. HEHEHE) I'm Tonya from the Redemption 2009, HFH group. It was SUCH a PLEASURE to get to meet and know you.

Back to the profile pic.. it's the last picture that was made of me with my son (that we lost). I figured since his story is my testimony I'd use the picture that was made with him. I want to use his journey, his faith in the LORD, and his going HOME to share about our LORD'S GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, and MERCY!

Again, it was truly AMAZING to have met you!
    Love,
    Tonya
