Self-Fulfillment

As individuals we are always searching for self-fulfillment. It starts when we are little and we see a toy and cry to get it. Once we get it, we may give it our attention for one or two days or until we go to the store again and a new toy catches our eye. As we grow and become teenagers and fianally adults our desire for self-fulfillments gets progressively worse. It ususally starts with the phrase, "If or When I could just __________, then I'll be happy. The problem is as long as we try to self-fulfill we will never be happy. It doesn't matter how many promotions you are awarded, how many offices you hold, how many cars you drive, how much money you make, whether you or married or single, have children or none you will never find true fulfillment with out God. Some of us seek diligently for years in and out of one thing to another searching for happiness. In search for fulfillment, some of us leave our families, find comfort in the arms of others outside of marriage, drown ourselves in work, eat uncontrollably and/or shop. We just keep doing this hoping one day to find the one thing or person that will satisfy that need. How many times have you set your sights on something or someone who you thought would satisfy a desire or need only to be disappointed? Until we come to the conclusion that we will always be searching and never satisfied, we will continue to miss out and not enjoy the blessings promised to us by God. Just as we often times know what is best for our children and we lead them and guide them until adulthood we also have a leader and guider who is God our Father. We must seek God daily in all that we say and do. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart". God will give us the desires of our heart if we seek Him according to His will. We must trust in Him to know what we really need just like we expect our children to trust us. The question is, will your Father know you when you seek Him? Will He consider you His child when you cry out in time of need? You must be saved to inherit God's holy power. Today is a good day to start seeking God's face for all your needs. Stop running the rats race seeking fulfillment. Praying special blessings for you and your family. Love, Benita
